Enhance undergraduate student learning and success
IUPUI’s service learning programs, which engage students in community-based work as an educational strategy, continue to be honored as among the best in the country, reports the
Center for Service and Learning
. Among other recognitions, for the fourth year in a row,
US News & World Report
included IUPUI’s service learning programs in its list of the nation’s top 25.
US News & World Report
has also once again recognized IUPUI’s first-year programs and learning communities, coordinated by
University
College
, as academic “Programs That Really Work” to support student success.
U.S. News
also cited undergraduate research opportunities at IUPUI as among the best in the country this year. Undergraduate research programs are administered by the
Center for Research and Learning
.
The
School
of Education
and the
School of Science
were awarded one of 16 competitive
National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Scholarship
grants to encourage undergraduate science students to become high school or middle school science teachers. The program will more than triple the number of secondary science teachers graduating from the School of Science. The majority of the Noyce Scholars will be placed in Indianapolis public schools.
